House struck: Police responding to reports of shots fired in the 700 block of Oakmont Avenue Wednesday were rerouted after a woman in the 700 block of Rosswell Avenue reported her home had been hit and three men in a silver vehicle were seen leaving the area. Police spotted a vehicle matching the description, but said there was only one male in it, the driver, and said he made a U-turn on Maple Way before police lost sight of him. The homeowner told them someone shot through her back wall, and police said there were five entry holes into the living room.

Leaky pipes: A man who allegedly was upset because a woman living with him left his apartment was taken into custody Wednesday. Robert E. Little, 41, 180 N. Fourth St., Apt 808, was booked into the Jefferson County Jail after city police filed charges of domestic violence on the woman’s behalf. After neighbors said they’d heard the couple arguing and objects being thrown and saw the male force the woman back into the apartment at one point, they determined probable cause existed to warrant entry. Once inside, police said the woman told them she’d been staying there because she didn’t have anywhere else to go and said the man was grumpy because he’d been assaulted earlier in the day and had returned home “very agitated.” She said they had been arguing, and at one point she left the apartment to allow him to cool off but realized she had forgotten something. She denied being forced back inside the apartment, but did tell police when she went back inside Little grabbed her and bit the side of her cheek. She said he’d also urinated all over her clothes “because he was unhappy that she was leaving the apartment.” The woman didn’t want to file charges, so police did it for her. Little also was charged with contempt of court.

Where’s mom: Children left by themselves at a city hotel for an extended period of time were causing a disturbance, Wednesday. An employee told police she’d been at work an hour and hadn’t seen an adult with them and the kids had been loud the entire time and needed to keep the noise down. Police said when they contacted their mother, she told them she was on her way back so the children returned to their room, but officers were asked to return a while later because the mother still hadn’t returned. The kids said their mother was “almost there.” When she arrived a short time later, mom was advised hotel policy is that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times and asked to leave.

Not buying it: A North Fourth Street resident said a man walked up to him at Fifth and Adams streets Wednesday demanding money, and when he didn’t give him any tried to punch him. He told police his three necklaces fell off and his attacker picked them up and tried to leave with them. Police stopped the other man, who claimed he was the victim. He said the other man tried to hit him with a board and in the process his necklaces fell off. He said the man walked away without his necklaces so he’d picked them up. Police made him give the necklaces back.

Anger issues: A Hollywood Boulevard resident said her live-in boyfriend accused her of trying to keep her from seeing his child with another woman, Wednesday. She said he shoved her against a wall and choked her, then “tore up” the kitchen. Police said she had red marks on her neck, and there was broken glass, plaster and appliances scattered on the floor.

Booked: Joyce Evans, 40, 947 Sherman Ave., Steubenville, warrant for illegal possession of an EBT card, Wednesday. Evans also was cited for driving under suspension.

Cited: Jacob W. Ricker, 24, 115 Gilson Ave., Weirton, expired license and expired registration; ; Patrick T. McGraw, 25, 1001 Labelle St., Brilliant, failure to control.

Served: Angel Gonzalez, 25, 1340 Oak Grove Ave., Steubenville, bench warrant for failure to appear, Wednesday.
